Wk 9 power to the people final blog post

Final Learning Reflection

1. Planning

Our Project Planner (Milestone 1) - link or embed the doc

Looking back at the planning we did at the start, I think that the way we planned in the beginning helped us achieve our project in a way that I was proud of. The planning was our first step to creating our project and it was a great help.

Having had the experience of this project, if I was planning another project I would focus on using a wider range of resources and finding a way to give everyone something to do so they can equally contribute to the group.

2. Process

Time management and workflow

Looking back at how well we planned and then recorded each week's and day's work and managed our time, I think we managed our time extremely well finishing our research and the main area of our project early giving us the time to experiment different ways to present and show how our idea can work.

Another time, I would use the spare time we had to expand the range of research we had using different resources and skills.

Collaborative skills

Considering how our group managed our relationships, discussions, decisions, and the way we shared out and contributed to the work, I think this was a thing that worked well in our group aside from not having our entire group here most days we found a way to let all members of the group contribute. Being a close knit group of friends we worked well to communicate and discuss our project in a calm and effective way.

In future, I would hope to continue working with my friend to create more projects lime this one as I believe we worked well together throughout the many weeks this has been going on .

3. Research

Our Research Process (Milestone 2) - link or embed the doc

Looking at our research and comparing it to what other groups did, I think all the different ways people researched and taking a look at their planning helped me and my group build a bigger and more detailed research which ended in a very well thought out project.

everyone used their research in different ways and they all turned out for the better

Another time, I would take more time on the project to attract more people to read and discover about it and engage in our planning.

4. Planning and Preparing our Presentation

Our Presentation Ideas (Milestone 3)  - link or embed the doc

Looking back now at how we planned and prepared our presentation, I think although my presentation plan was short it gave you the idea of what we were thinking. While preparing our project for presentation we looked at how we can make it more appealing in our planner and changed it for the better.

Another time, I would make my plan more in depth and more detailed so you can know exactly how it would turn out.

5. Showcase Day

Our Presentation (Final Product/s)

Include photos or videos.

Looking back on Showcase Day, you might want to consider some of the following questions:

What worked well for Showcase Day, and why? What didn't work well and why? Did you vote on the projects? Why or why not? Did you have a team member with your display at all times? Why or why not? Did you stay and talk about your project? Why/Why not? Were you able to answer visitor questions?

My positives for Showcase Day were the way people reacted to our research and the way it was presented made a positive impact on a number of students, staff and member of the public.

Another time, I would attempt to get more people to read our presentation and to invest themselves in it.

6. Reflection on the Project

a) What skills did you use, learn or develop during this project which will be helpful in your life beyond school? I used thorough planning skills and learnt about hydropower and using sustainable energy

b) Would you like to do more of this kind of learning next year? I thoroughly enjoyed working with my friends and completing our project although the topic of our presentation did not interest me which gave me a lack of motivation. The project also put a lot of pressure on the teachers which resulted in them having a short fuse on the students.

c) What did you learn from this process that will help with future projects?

that you have to invest time and spend a lot of your time researching and planning. this will have me prepared for future projects.

d) What advice would you give to the teachers if they are running this or something similar in the future? to take a second to calm down and not yell at the students. And use good language even when the students are making it difficult.

Week 8 Power to the people

1. What have you achieved/learned/found out since your last post?

This week we got all the supplies to make a mini water generator. Mr Georgetti helped us with all the things we needed to make it work.

we tested it out on the taps at a high pressure measuring the volts and pressure then used the power it created to light up a small led light.

We took a video of it working and then uploaded it onto our slide

2. How effectively have you used your time this week?

we have worked very effectively to complete our project

3. How have you contributed to your group’s progress?

I have contributed by recording and summarising Information

4. Glows: something that is going well in your project:

We are working as a team and splitting the workload

5. Grows: Something you need to work on:

keeping motivated and setting goals

6. Where could you get help with this?

We can achieve this on our own with their right motivation
